A Partnership For
Revitalization
Phenix City, Alabama is located in the center of the flourishing and attractive Chattahoochee River Valley. The Phenix City Riverfront District is uniquely positioned to take advantage of exceptional new market opportunities, including:
- Upcoming Urban Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking with 60,000 to 100,000 annual visitors
- Exceptional projected market growth of 15% over 4 years with new staff at nearby Fort Benning
- Major riverfront development underway in Columbus, including a new college campus on the river
- Previous investments of over $640 million in the Columbus/Phenix City downtown
- Potential formation of creative
public/private partnerships to support development
Recognizing the enhancements to Chattahoochee River and along the Phenix City/Columbus riverfronts as excellent economic development opportunities, a solid group of business, community and political leaders formed East Alabama Riverfront Development (EARD), a 501c3 nonprofit, public/private partnership dedicated to the revitalization of downtown Phenix City.
EARD, working in partnership with the City of Phenix City, the Downtown Redevelopment Authority and its local citizens, developed a comprehensive Riverfront District revitalization strategy that responds to the vision of all members of the community and which will enable the orderly development of the Riverfront and Downtown Phenix City.
EARD and Phenix City are actively seeking development partners interested in this dynamic and growing market. Please review the vast information contained in this website and feel free to contact us for a review of the current riverfront opportunities in this expanding market.
